For many years already, patients from across the globe have been coming to our Urology Department in Gronau Germany to seek treatment by our renowned team of medical specialists. We are thankful for their trust in our abilities, and we are aware that any hospital stay in a foreign country is always going to entail certain organisational and administrative challenges - which is why a dedicated team ensures that international patients receive a variety of services to help them through the experience.
Service & Procedure
Below, we have put together the most important items for you to consider before, during and after your stay at our clinic.
1. Treatment enquiry
In order to provide you with as detailed an offer as possible, we need to have access to an English or German translation of your findings and results to date – including any CT, MRI or X-ray scans. Based on these findings, we will swiftly compile a response to your enquiry, covering your specific needs. Please note that there is no "one size fits all" – as there are numerous individually specific things to consider.
In order to be able to make you an offer that is as concrete as possible, we need the following documents and information:
We will process your request within the shortest possible time and then provide you with individual feedback by e-mail.
2. Price estimate
Using the information you provide us, we will create a treatment plan, and submit a price estimate for the planned treatment.
Important note: The price we submit is merely a preliminary estimate. Depending on how the medical treatment runs, this price may ultimately be higher or lower than estimated.
3. Payment in advance
The amount shown in the price estimate will first need to be remitted by bank transfer or credit card payment.
4. Scheduling of appointments
Once the calculated amount has been received, the specific dates for your inpatient stay will be scheduled.
5. Entry visa
Should you require a medical visa for entry into Germany, we will gladly assist you in this process as well by extending a corresponding invitation. To do so, we will need a copy of your passport as well as that of the individual who is scheduled to accompanying you.
Important note: Since the invitation will need to include confirmation that the treatment costs have been covered, it will only be possible to issue this after the requested advance payment has been received. Once this has occurred, you can then arrange an appointment for an interview at the German embassy in your home country. The invitation will usually enable you to receive a visa with little to no difficulty.
6. Arrival
If so requested, we will gladly help you arrange your transportation to us from Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Munster/Osnabruck Airport.
7. Accommodation
We will also be happy to assist you in finding the accommodation that best meets your personal needs for the time before or after your treatment in our department.
8. Procurement of translation services
Should you be unable to communicate in English or German, we can put you in touch with interpreters who speak the same native tongue as you (costs not included in the price estimate). And when it comes to finding service providers to translate medical reports, test results and/or the entire invoice into your preferred language, we will be most happy to help.
9. Medical records
You will receive a copy of all medical records documenting everything that occurred during your stay, written in German. Upon request, we will arrange for your documents to be translated into English or your native language (additional cost may apply).
10. Final invoice
The final invoice will be issued upon conclusion of the treatment as soon as the International Patient Service has received all of the invoices. Please note that all invoices will be issued in German. Should the final invoice deviate from the price estimate, you will either need to pay the difference or will receive a refund for the higher charges initially invoiced.
11. Departure
We will be happy to organise your return trip from your hotel or from our clinic to Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Munster/Osnabruck Airport.
